Children’s Sunday School Reopening

To our Parents,

We are so excited to have your kids back at PBC! Our goal is to create a safe, socially distanced, fun space for children to study God’s Word and grow in their relationship with Him. You can help us accomplish this by observing the following guidelines and procedures.

Classrooms are cleaned and sanitized before and after each use. Children will not rotate between classrooms. We are striving to keep the same group of children together in the same classroom each week.

The one exception is Kids Worship. At 11:00 AM, we will add our first graders to our large second grade room. Prior to them entering, all surfaces will be cleaned and sanitized, and we’ll repeat our hand sanitizing step.

BEFORE ARRIVAL:
Most importantly, please register your child.
Due to social distancing requirements, stringent cleaning procedures, and fewer teachers returning at this time, our classroom capacity is limited.

Please go through the following checklist with your child. If your child has any of the symptoms listed below, please keep your child at home.

·         Is your child running a fever of 100 degrees or more?

·         Does your child have a respiratory infection? Has your child been coughing, sneezing regularly, had shortness of breath, pink eye, vomiting or diarrhea within the last 24 hours?

·         In the previous 14 days, have you had any contact with someone with a confirmed diagnosis of Covid-19; is under the investigation for Covid-19 or is ill experiencing a respiratory illness?

·         In the previous 14 days, have you or anyone in your family traveled on a cruise or internationally?

THINGS TO BRING/NOT TO BRING:

·         Children in the third grade and up are asked to wear masks until they reach their socially distanced, designated spot in the classroom. They may take masks off while they are socially distanced. If we get up and move around, we’ll put them back on.

·         Please encourage them to bring their own Bible as we will not be able to share Bibles.

·         Please leave extra toys and games at home.

·         Please do not bring food/drinks into the classroom. This encourages kids to touch their faces. We will provide individually wrapped snacks and drinks for Kids Worship only, and we sanitize our hands before and after.

ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE:

·         All staff, volunteers and children will have their temperatures checked at their check in location.

·         For Sunday school, the earliest drop off time is 9:35 AM. (Sunday School is from 9:45-10:45)

·         1-2 Graders will check in at the desk in the Kids Welcome Area. They will then go to their classroom (Rooms 102-103) and use hand sanitizer upon entering.

·         3-6 Graders will check in and have temperatures checked and use hand sanitizer as they enter their classroom.

·         Please make sure your child uses the restroom before class.

·         Please pick up your child as soon as service/your class is finished, so we have time to clean. Please wait at the classroom door and we will bring your child to you.

·         5-6 graders may leave class to meet up with their parent with parent permission.

·        Please follow the direction/social distancing arrows on the floor in the children’s hallway.

WHAT WILL CHILDREN’S CLASSES LOOK LIKE?

·         Classrooms are set up socially distanced—2 children per table—at least 6 feet from any other child.

·         Each child has an assigned seat with his/her name and will sit at the same table each Sunday.

·         Each child has his/her own container of art supplies and activity packet.  No supplies will be shared.

·         Any used supplies that cannot be disinfected or washed will be discarded.

Thank you so much for trusting us with your child! We LOVE seeing kids come to know God and experience His love for them and His plan for their lives. We believe He has a plan, even during this challenging time, and the heartbeat of this ministry is to help your family grow to trust Him more. (Proverbs 3:5-6) So, let us know what we can do to be a blessing to your precious family!

Love In Christ,
